Understanding the dashboard layout, sidebar, and page structure
The helpdesk interface is designed to be fast and predictable. Once you understand the layout, you can move between any part of the application in a single click.
Sidebar
The sidebar is a narrow, icon-only column fixed to the left edge of the screen. It provides quick access to the main sections:
- Dashboard — overview of ticket activity and key stats.
- Tickets — the full ticket list with search, filters, and sorting.
- Contacts — your directory of clients and their ticket history.
- Settings — branding, departments, SLA, and other configuration (visible to owners and admins).
- Team — manage users, roles, and permissions (visible to owners and admins).
The items you see depend on your role. Agents see Dashboard, Tickets, and Contacts. Owners and admins see everything.
Hover over any icon to see its label as a tooltip.
Top header
The header bar across the top of every page displays:
- Organisation name — confirms which workspace you are currently in.
- Dark / light mode toggle — switch between themes to suit your preference. Your choice is saved automatically.
- User menu — click your avatar in the top-right corner to access your profile, switch organisations (if you belong to more than one), or sign out.
Page structure
Most pages follow a consistent layout:
- List views — Tickets and Contacts use a scrollable list on the left with filters and search at the top. Click any row to open its detail panel.
- Detail panels — When you select a ticket or contact, the detail view appears beside the list (on wider screens) or replaces it (on narrower screens).
- Three-panel ticket view — The ticket page is divided into three columns: the ticket list, the conversation thread, and a properties sidebar showing status, priority, assignee, SLA, and other metadata.
On smaller screens the layout adapts automatically. The sidebar collapses to icons, and panels stack vertically so everything remains accessible.
Embedded mode
When the helpdesk is accessed inside your CRM (through an iframe or sidebar integration), it switches to embedded mode automatically. In this mode:
- The sidebar collapses to save horizontal space.
- External navigation links are hidden since you are already inside the CRM.
- The interface adjusts to fit the available panel width.
No setup is required — embedded mode activates based on how the page is loaded. You get the same features with a layout optimised for a narrower viewport.
